Terri Clemons, Director of Bands

Terri Clemons is starting her 15th year at Spring High School where she coordinates every aspect of the Spring Marching Band and conducts the Wind Ensemble. Previously, she was Director of Bands at Twin Creeks for 8 years. Terri, a Spring High alumnus, is a graduate of the University of Houston Moore's School of Music where she studied under Eddie Green. She has received additional instruction from Tom Bennett and Bill Watson. Mrs. Clemons’ bands at Twin Creeks and Spring High have consistently received the UIL Sweepstakes award and won Best-in-Class awards at festivals in Texas and Florida.
Under her guidance the Spring Band has qualified to the UIL Texas State Marching Contest six times and placed as a finalist in 2010. They have also been finalists at the BOA Houston Regional and the BOA Super-Regional in San Antonio. Ms. Clemons was awarded the Spring ISD "Achievement Star" for outstanding instruction and performance, and served as a co-conductor for the Spring Wind Ensemble at The Midwest Clinic in 2008 and 2016 and for the Spring Percussion Ensemble at WIBC in 2017. On several occasions she has also received the Spring ISD Distinguished Educator Award, given annually to teachers deemed as the singular most influential teacher by graduating seniors in the top 5% of their class.
Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association. For several years Terri has been a staff member of the Cougar Band Camp at the University of Houston. Terri is an enthusiastic shopper and ardent supporter of the Houston Astros!
